The Challenge
Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) had a Drupal website that they could no longer use. They pivoted to a simple WordPress website in order to manage their content. At that point, LHS was in need of a more professional website that would provide resources and information about services and could be easily managed by their staff. Most importantly LHS needed to add crucial support for those in need of domestic violence services, including education, outreach, emergency help, and counseling/therapy. An emergency escape button needed to be implemented to protect these users.
The Solution
YIKES, Inc. designed a custom WordPress site to accurately reflect the organization and convey the life-changing services they offer. It clearly guides visitors to appropriate services, programs and resources. The user experience has been vastly improved for target audiences, including those looking for services related to domestic violence, senior, housing, or food, as well as those looking to volunteer, donate, or partner. The new website is also easy for the content editorial team to manage.
As a company that believes in supporting the local community, it was so fulfilling to build a site for Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) to help fulfill its mission. They are just down the street from our office and provide so many life-saving services to help Fishtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. It was truly an honor to create a new site for them.
