Friends General Conference is an association of local and regional Quaker organizations primarily in the United States and Canada. A volunteer-led association, its focus areas and related projects are determined by volunteers representing affiliates and are consistent with FGC’s organizational Minute of Purpose and Vision Statement.
The Friends General Conference website not only needed an updated, modern design but the existing site was also built on Drupal 7 which was nearing its end-of-life-cycle for support. FGC wanted to move the website technology from Drupal to a more flexible, well-supported platform. In addition, the website had been developed by multiple people over the years, making it difficult to maintain, add new features, or create new functionality. With years of content and assets, FGC needed assistance with migration, as well.
YIKES designed and developed a new website using the WordPress platform. A custom WordPress theme, using the modern, flexible Gutenberg editor to create blocks and templates allows for the FGC team to easily create content with vibrant, unique layouts.
