PHP 8 Update

The end-of-life date for PHP 7.4 was November 28, 2022.

PHP is the open source programming language which powers WordPress. Running PHP 7.4 means your site will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or improvements from the PHP development team. This can leave your site vulnerable to security risks and much harder to maintain or improve in the future. As website hosts continue to upgrade their servers to PHP, a website that is not PHP 8 ready may stop functioning.

If your website is still using PHP 7.4, an outdated version of the programming language that WordPress is built upon, it is time to upgrade.
